Text Column Test Chrome This build has Direct2D acceleration enabled, which is a brand-new feature. My OSX reaches the same sad numbers as published. The test stresses pushing around lots of bitmap assets that animate each frame. Most Flash content on normal web pages is advertising. This buffer could be flushed prematurely if you called getImageData.

Although the code is fairly simple at a glance, there are no easy optimization paths to be found and no cheating by turning off anti-aliasing.

It always has been. My PowerBook G4 is almost 5 years old now, but Flash performance still sucks even on guiark newer machines that are about 5 or 6 times as powerful as mine. The lower the Timer, the more often it will occur and the higher the simulated fps will be. The layout calculations are pretty significant at that point.
After releasing it I got a good response from both the guimar, community guimak well as several platform engineers interested in resolving problems. Thank you fors sharing your admin would get ready a severely beneficial write-up I congratulate. In order to perform Silverlight 1. From a rendering perspective, Silverlight has a LOT of growing up to do. Oh the joys of benchmarking. You can download all the fonts and tower defense assets here.
On Linux, I have noticed far superior. To which the blog author replied: The GUI is very responsive guimaark is pretty comparable with a desktop app.
offbeat brass band company.... and currently in Guimark Trading Corporation
I tried a build-out in HTML5 of this app and in the real-world it was a non-starter. The reasons are pretty technical, as that same blogger explains in his comment on the GUIMark site which he refers to in the above reply:. Flash may be multi platform but it is certainly not platform agnostic gumark terms of performance and optimization. Link Obviously, re-adding the text still makes it slow as hell. My results on C2D 2.

Indeed, I am shocked by the performance of text rendering in Silverlight 2 Beta 1… especially knowing that MS has been coding very fast text renderers since the early days of Windows. Not bad considering their not as close to the OS as the Safari team. For guimrk record I, other developers and QE run Shark and other performance tools, manually and automated.
Bitmap Game Test Chrome I also firmly believe that any benchmark testing rendering performance should stick to sub 60 fps numbers. Originally I had added gradient fills into the mix to make sure that a good majority of vector APIs were being flexed, but there was no significant difference in the results so I pulled them out to make the visuals cleaner.
This pushed the performance up to about 16 FPS. So basically that explains the difference. In Silverlight 1 users had to rely on the Storyboard object to fire timed events, but those events would occasionally queue up and fire twice guumark a row before rendering the output.

It's pretty easy to see the difference if you take a close look. Each test case was run 3 times in a new browser instance and the highest framerate observed was recorded.
Try to optimize your class with the comments above huimark you will see, that Java is quiet alot faster then any other of your testers. Once Mac is pushing 30 fps or higher, then it will start becoming applicable.
What about video comparison? There is no need to clear anything if everything is overdrawn either way. Hi, I think this is a great post and the findings are very interesting!
